Greenfields Energy Group has opened a flagship office at Somerset House on Temple Street in Birmingham city centre after its sales grew 69% in the 2025/26 financial year.

The office opened in September and is home to a team of 12, with the company planning to reach 15 staff in the first quarter of 2027. Founded in 2023 by Liam Conway and Rich Clark, the firm now runs as a Birmingham energy consultancy from its new base.

Growth has continued into the current financial year, with the company saying it is tracking at 128% year-on-year sales growth. It started out with an office in the Black Country, initially targeting manufacturers hit by sharp rises in gas and electricity prices.

Recent appointments include Eleanor Quick as Account Director, Emma Gorman as Technical Project Manager and Tom Ward in sales support. The company says further recruitment is already planned as it works towards its target headcount.

Liam Conway, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Greenfields Energy Group, said: “Birmingham was the natural choice. We work with businesses across the West Midlands and beyond, and being in the city puts us closer to clients and the wider business community. It also gives our team a great base as we move into the next stage of our development.”

He said the business is investing more heavily in technology and AI and wants to use it “to strengthen relationships, not replace them”.

“Energy is becoming more complex, and we know that businesses still want knowledgeable people they can speak to and trust.”

Manufacturers at the core of the client base

Greenfields provides energy procurement, risk management and energy bureau services to businesses across the UK, typically organisations spending between £100,000 and £5m a year on energy. It specialises in manufacturing and industrial clients, where energy can be a significant operating cost and changes in production, market prices and regulation can have a material effect on financial performance.

Its website lists partnerships with nine trade associations and chambers of commerce. The company also helps manufacturers apply to the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme, the government programme designed to cut electricity costs for eligible energy-intensive firms.

With Somerset House as its flagship, the Birmingham energy consultancy says the office will support its continued growth and its work with manufacturers and other businesses across the West Midlands.
