City News reports on the companies, deals, developments and decisions shaping business in the UK's cities. It is part of City News, published by City News Group Limited. We are a newsroom, not a press release service, an opinion blog or a promotional platform.
Where our stories come from
Most stories start from primary material: company announcements, stock exchange notices, council and public sector releases, planning documents and Companies House filings. Reports by other publications are treated as tips: we go back to the original announcement and write from that.
Every story is rewritten in our own words for business readers in each city. We remove promotional language, add local context and say why the news matters for each city. Sources are listed at the foot of each story, linked where the original is published online.
Accuracy
Figures, names, dates and claims are checked against the original source before publication. Quotes are reproduced as given and always attributed. A claim we cannot confirm is left out or clearly marked as the company's own.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help draft stories from source material, check facts against sources, research company details and suggest headlines and search terms. An editor reviews, edits and approves every story before it is published. AI tools are never used to invent quotes, sources, people or facts.
Editorial independence
Coverage cannot be bought: it is an editorial decision. We decide what to cover, and how, on news value for business in the UK's cities. Companies can pay for a full profile page on our company register; full profiles are always labelled and never buy coverage, or a place or position in any listing or guide.

Business owners and directors, founders, investors, property and professional services firms, public sector leaders and anyone who works in or with business in the UK's cities.
